WHO AM I?
David Hermansson
I live in Uppsala, Sweden, just 60km north of Stockholm with my wife, two daughters and 6+ dogs.
I did my mandatory military service in Halmstad, Sweden in 2003 and after that I worked as a bouncer at a lot nightclubs in Gothenburg, Sweden for about 10 years. In 2011 I felt that I needed some kind of change and I had many bouncer colleagues also working at different Youth Correctional Facilities, so I tried it out and got stuck there for almost 13 years.
I’m not that colleague that’s just gonna agree with you because we’re colleagues. If you’re wrong, you’re wrong. So be mad, I’ll talk to you later.
About 10 years ago I met my wife at a dog show and moved from Gothenburg to Uppsala to move in with her. Together we have bred and showed lots of dogs, with the most successful dog being the top winning Staffordshire Bull Terrier within the Nordic region with multiple champion titles.
Traveling to dog shows with a wife, 2 kids and 6+ dogs came some logistics issues which we solved by purchasing an school bus which we converted into an RV. This caught the attention of a Swedish RV magazine which made a 5 page story about us and our RV build.
Nowadays we don’t travel that much to dog shows, but we still have the RV for some nice summer traveling.
The past two years I’ve been streaming CounterStrike from my mancave, putting way too many hours and too much money into perfecting my streaming setup.
Down below is a short highlight-reel I scripted with Streamer.bot which shows replays of my kills after every game.
I started programming HTML/CSS/JavaScript in 2001 and over the years I’ve developed a number of different websites for myself which have had variations of success. All of the websites are now closed down, but I’ll tell you about a few of them.
odibonk.se
2001 – 2008
In my mind this was supposed to be what Amazon has become today and my first ever “big” project. I eventually scrapped it as I didn’t get any positive feedback when I did market research. To be fair this was before online shopping was a thing, so people didn’t think this was ever going to happen.
fildelare.org
2006 – 2009
A community (old term for Social Media) for people pirating and sharing movies, music and software. The website wasn’t involved in actually sharing files, but there was a big forum and links to torrent trackers and other torrent websites.

translated lightacandle.now
2009 – 2011
This was a website where people could light virtual candles for people who had passed away or just had a rough time. Lighting a candle was free, but you could pay to have “nicer looking” candles. I abandoned this project after about 30-40K candles were lit as I got into new projects.
nordicshowstafford.se
2017 – 2020
This website is my most recent project. As I wrote earlier, I have Staffordshire Bull Terriers which I show at dog shows, and this website was a yearly leaderboard for all Staffordshire Bull Terriers in the Nordic countries, showing hundreds of thousands results from dog shows. Using algorithms I then calculated the top winning dogs every year, both nationally and within all the Nordic countries. The website died in 2020 as the server provider was hacked and all files and databases was deleted.
